The biggest upset of the week belonged to Smithtown East, who took down 190th ranked Newfield, 14-7.
The Bulls moved up to 294 from 368 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 11 Division II. Smithtown East climbed the ranks as a result of a 14-7 win over the Wolverines.
Riverhead's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blue Waves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ryan Bitzer has thrown for 890 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Funn Quinn has 25 catches for 435 yards. Jerimiah Cheatom leads the league in rushing with 769 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Islip takes on North Babylon. The Lions are currently in first, while the Bulldogs are in fifth.
West Islip extended the longest winning streak in Section 11 Division II this week by beating Copiague, 42-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for Tim Horan's team.
