Basketball Recap: Neuse Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Neuse Christian Academy lost against Hilltop Christian back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Neuse Christian Academy Lions lost to the Hilltop Christian Chargers at home by a 40-25 margin. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Neuse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lyla Lindstrom posted 12 points and seven boards. Lindstrom is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Hilltop Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meleah Bell, who scored four points along with six assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bell a new career-high in assists. Natalie Meza was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 16 points.

Neuse Christian Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Hilltop Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record.

Neuse Christian Academy has already played their next matchup (against Thales Academy Apex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hilltop Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-30 defeat against Wilson Christian Academy on the 28th.
