Baseball Recap: Los Osos Has No Trouble Against Upland

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contest, Los Osos brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on the Upland Highlanders/Scots with a sharp 10-4 victory on Wednesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Highlanders/Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Los Osos got a great performance from Jordan Mejico as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Mejico has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Mohler was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Roberto Topete, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Los Osos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upland only posted a batting average of .296.

Los Osos' victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Upland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Los Osos will have a chance to go back-to-back against Upland: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
