Soccer Game Preview: Basalt vs. Steamboat Springs

The Basalt Longhorns will face off against the Steamboat Springs Sailors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Basalt is headed into Thursday's contest following a draw, the team's first since September 5. Neither they nor Aspen could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Steamboat Springs kept a clean sheet against Fruita Monument on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over the Wildcats. Steamboat Springs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Fruita Monument with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Marshall Moss (2), Treyden Klingemann, and Cesar Carrillo.

Steamboat Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. With that draw, Basalt's record moves to 4-6-2.
