Softball Recap: La Salle Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

La Salle had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Rio Hondo Prep Kares.

Havana Pagan made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits. Pagan was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aria Davis, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Jessica Young was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

La Salle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive games.

La Salle's record now sits at 12-4. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Looking ahead, La Salle will head out to face off against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.57 runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will be playing at home against Flintridge Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
