Preview: Valley Vista Monsoon vs. Seton Catholic Sentinels
The Valley Vista Monsoon are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Seton Catholic Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Dobson scored an imposing 57 points on Saturday, Valley Vista still came out on top. Valley Vista took their contest against Dobson 65-57.
Valley Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maximus Romero out in front who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was Romero's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Cosio, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Seton Catholic had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westwood 62-31 on the road.
Their wins bumped Valley Vista to 4-1 and Dobson to 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Valley Vista against Seton Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 75-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Vista since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
