Metropolitan recap September 17, 2013

Rosemont moved up to 399 from 577 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Metropolitan. The Wolverine were able to make move up by besting Sheldon 41-36.

Johnson was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to third in the league. The Warriors vanquished Elliot Christian 18-13 earlier in the week.

Buddy Enriquez and Eddie Ortiz gave Rosemont a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Enriquez threw for 132 yards, while Ortiz ran for 203 yards. Teammate Kameron Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.

Enriquez and Ortiz gave Rick Wanlin's team a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Israel Smith provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Johnson topped the Eagles. He completed 11 passes for 124 yards and also ran for 80 yards. Smith's key target this week was Saul Rivera, who caught 6 passes for 76 yards.

Enriquez put up the best numbers in passing as the Wolverine bested the Huskies. Enriquez's favorite target this week was DeShawn Allen, who caught 3 passes for 50 yards.

Ortiz was the most successful running back in the league this week.

Rivera was the best receiver in Metropolitan this week as Nick Martinez's team bested Elliot Christian. Uriel Lopez helped Johnson's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 23 yards.

On the heels of Enriquez and Ortiz, Rosemont has had great success on offense. Enriquez leads the league in passing with 264 yards, while Ortiz has rushed for 413 yards this season. Florin's Tre Von Conerly-Smith leads the league in receiving yards with 185 on 9 catches.

Sacramento took down Foothill 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
