Basketball Game Preview: Appleton East Patriots vs. Kimberly Papermakers

The Appleton East Patriots will take on the Kimberly Papermakers on Friday. Appleton East knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Kimberly likes a good challenge.

Appleton East is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Eau Claire Memorial 68-65. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Old Abes recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Kimberly faced Pewaukee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Kimberly slipped by Pewaukee 48-47. Winning may never get old, but the Papermakers sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Kimberly's win bumped their record up to 27-1. As for Appleton East, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Appleton East took a serious blow against Kimberly in their previous meeting back in January, falling 67-28. Can Appleton East avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
