Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Mountaineers vs. Strafford Indians
In what's become a running theme this season, Mt. Vernon gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. Everything went their way against the Strafford Indians as the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers made off with a 13-3 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mt. Vernon also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Hali Stokes was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Molly Daniels was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
Mt. Vernon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for Strafford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
