Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson). Their defense stepped up to hand the Sam Houston Hurricanes an 8-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won seven in a row.

Jefferson's offense was hitting Sam Houston from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Antonio Acosta led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 12-9-4. As for Sam Houston, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-20.
