Basketball Game Preview: Squalicum Storm vs. Blaine Borderites

The Squalicum Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Blaine Borderites at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Blaine took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Squalicum, who comes in off a win.

Squalicum saw some tournament action on Saturday. They managed a 48-44 win over Inglemoor. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Meanwhile, Blaine was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Meridian 73-44. While losing is never fun, the Borderites can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Trojans are ranked 46th).

Squalicum's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Blaine, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Squalicum came out on top in a nail-biter against Blaine in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 69-67. Will Squalicum repeat their success, or does Blaine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
