Basketball Recap: Gateway Christian Starts Season with Loss at Home

Gateway Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 52-40 to the Tidewater Academy Warriors on Tuesday. Gateway Christian just can't catch a break and has now endured seven defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Several Gateway Christian players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Green, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keegan Snyder, who posted 11 points.

Tidewater Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aydan Phillips, who put up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Henry Berryman, who had 11 points.

Tidewater Academy's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Gateway Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-36 loss against Cramerton Christian Academy on the 6th. As for Tidewater Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-33 victory against The New Community School on the 6th.
