Volleyball Recap: Evansville Central Comes Up Short

Evansville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Jasper Wildcats. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Jasper scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-17.

Summer Shelby paced Evansville Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Shelby got some help from Lauren Lowe and her ten assists.

Evansville Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jasper, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Evansville Central and Jasper will both be playing Heritage Hills the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
