Volleyball Recap: Land O' Lakes Starts Season with Win Against Fivay

Land O' Lakes had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Fivay Falcons 3-0 on Tuesday. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Land O' Lakes was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-11.

Land O' Lakes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia Colon out in front who had 22 digs and five aces. Colon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Arianna Garcia, who had ten digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Land O' Lakes was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Land O' Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Tampa Prep on the 21st. As for Fivay, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Anclote on the 21st.
