Softball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Perry lost against Highland back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Perry Pumas came up short against the Highland Hawks, falling 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pumas have suffered since March 1, 2024.

Brynlee Brassfield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Sammie Kaufmann-Warner was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Perry now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Highland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Perry will face off against O'Connor at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Highland, they will square off against Chaparral at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
