Volleyball Recap: DuQuoin Comes Up Short + How To Watch

DuQuoin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wesclin Warriors. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 27-29, 26-24, 25-11.

When it comes to explaining why DuQuoin lost, don't look at McKenzie Eaton. Despite the final result, she had 12 assists and five digs.

Wesclin can attribute much of their success to Hailey Kallvy, who had 13 digs and one assist.

DuQuoin's loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Wesclin, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-12.

DuQuoin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Vienna on the 28th. As for Wesclin, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Greenville on the 27th.
