Basketball Recap: Triad Takes a Loss

Triad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-19 loss at the hands of the Mechanicsburg Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-20 back in December of 2024.

Jazzlyhn Ford was Triad's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Abbey Overfield held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Mechanicsburg found their leader in sophomore Clara Forrest, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Mylee DeLong was another key player, putting up a point along with 20 boards and six steals.

Triad's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Mechanicsburg, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Triad didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-22 victory against Northeastern on the 18th. Mechanicsburg has also already played their next match, a 52-45 win against Fairbanks on the 18th.
