The matchup between Atascocita and Spring on Friday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. Everything went the Atascocita Eagles' way against the Spring Lions as the Atascocita Eagles made off with a 17-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

Allison Burkhalter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rhilynn McCoy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in triples (two). Marigny Thomas was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Atascocita hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Atascocita's record is now 2-0. As for Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Atascocita will square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spring, they will take on Dickinson in a tournament on Saturday.
