Softball Game Preview: New Brunswick Zebra vs. Somerset Tech Jaguars

The New Brunswick Zebra will challenge the Somerset Tech Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

New Brunswick made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Piscataway Vo-Tech, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Zebra blew past the Raiders 18-3 on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Diana Martinez, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Libni Ester Gijon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Somerset Tech lost 21-13 to Dunellen on Wednesday. The Jaguars have struggled against the Destroyers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

New Brunswick now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Somerset Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

New Brunswick skirted past Somerset Tech 12-11 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Zebra have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
