Volleyball Recap: Cornerstone Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Cornerstone Prep Academy lost against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars fell just short of the Saints by a score of 3-2. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 25-15 in the first set.

Cornerstone Prep Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-13, 15-12.

Cornerstone Prep Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Prep Academy will take on Georgia-Cumberland Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against The King's Academy at 6:45 p.m. on September 8.
