Baseball Game Preview: Pavilion Golden Gophers vs. Avon Braves

Pavilion is 2-8 against Avon since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Golden Gophers will look to defend their home field against the Braves at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pavilion and Wayland-Cohocton, and Wayland-Cohocton kept the tradition alive. The Golden Gophers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Dansville, falling 10-0.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Pavilion, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.

Pavilion took their victory against Avon when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Golden Gophers repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
