After flying high against Minatare last Thursday, Creek Valley came back down to earth. The Creek Valley Storm were dealt an 81-6 defeat at the hands of the Wallace Wildcats on Friday.
Zander Polk threw for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 36 yards.
Mason Timm was his top target, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wallace found their leader in underclassman Ashtin Johns, who rushed for 155 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries. With that strong performance, Johns is now averaging an impressive 109 rushing yards per game.
Creek Valley's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wallace, the win snapped their losing streak at four games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-1 record.
Creek Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hay Springs at 7:00 p.m. on September 19th. As for Wallace, they will head out on the road to challenge South Platte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
