Basketball Recap: Van Buren Comes Up Short

Van Buren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Madawaska Owls, falling 68-9. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Owls are ranked 15th).

Van Buren's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Madawaska, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Madawaska beat Van Buren by a score of 68-9 on Wednesday.
