Basketball Recap: Crescent Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Crescent came into Thursday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Dixie Hornets with a sharp 40-14 victory on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-17 last Monday.

Kerrie O'Shields and Jaylia Turner certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. O'Shields posted six points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Turner had four points and three steals. O'Shields has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Crescent's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Dixie, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Crescent will be taking part in a tournament against Liberty at 6:15 p.m. on December 27th. After both having extra time off, Dixie and GREEN Upstate will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Dixie is facing GREEN Upstate at the right time seeing as GREEN Upstate is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
