They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 win over East. The victory was just what Hutchinson-Central Tech needed coming off of a 78-44 loss in their prior contest.

East's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jussean Pearsall, who scored 22 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Pearsall hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. Antoine Williams was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.

Even though they lost, East were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hutchinson-Central Tech has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for East, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
