Football Game Preview: Loara Saxons vs. Bolsa Grande Matadors

The Loara Saxons will face off against the Bolsa Grande Matadors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Loara has given up an average of 29.3 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Loara is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They were dealt a 54-21 defeat at the hands of Anaheim. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 20, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Loss or not, Loara got some senior leadership from Jorge Rodriguez and Aiden Gomez. Rodriguez gained 185 total yards and two touchdowns, while Gomez threw for 257 yards and three TDs. Rodriguez showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 51 yards.

Meanwhile, Bolsa Grande was able to grind out a solid victory over La Quinta on Friday, taking the game 14-7. The win continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won four in a row.

Loara's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bolsa Grande, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Loara took a serious blow against Bolsa Grande when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 49-14. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Saxons were down 35-7.
