Baseball Game Preview: Felicity-Franklin Cardinals vs. Georgetown G-Men

The Felicity-Franklin Cardinals will head out to challenge the Georgetown G-Men at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Georgetown took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Felicity-Franklin, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Felicity-Franklin faced off against Bethel-Tate on Monday. The Cardinals walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Tigers. The Cardinals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Grady Jowers, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Jona Carnahan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Felicity-Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Georgetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Blanchester.

Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Felicity-Franklin, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Felicity-Franklin skirted past Georgetown 8-6 in their previous matchup on Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
