Basketball Game Preview: Snow Canyon Warriors vs. Hurricane Tigers

Snow Canyon is 8-2 against Hurricane since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Snow Canyon Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Hurricane Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Snow Canyon has 16 straight victories, Hurricane has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Snow Canyon is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Dixie: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Snow Canyon blew Dixie out of the water with a 71-38 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Olivia Hamlin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten boards. Her evening made it 42 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaylee Andrews, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards.

Snow Canyon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Hurricane came up short against Crimson Cliffs on Thursday and fell 51-41. The Tigers were down 45-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Snow Canyon's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.4 points. As for Hurricane, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Snow Canyon strolled past Hurricane in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 63-49. Does Snow Canyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hurricane turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
