Basketball Recap: Bree Leslie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Conifer over Littleton

Conifer has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 27 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They took a hard 57-40 fall against the Littleton Lions. The Lobos lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 61-21 score last time.

Conifer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bree Leslie, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Kramer, who posted four points and nine boards.

Littleton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Bird, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds. Those 21 boards gave Bird a new career-high. Vicky Whitney was another key player, putting up eight points and 16 rebounds.

Conifer's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Littleton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Conifer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 39-36 loss against Dakota Ridge on the 24th. As for Littleton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-22 defeat against D'Evelyn on the 24th.
