Basketball Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Buckeye Bucks

The Avon Lake Shoremen just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Buckeye Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avon Lake has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Buckeye will come in with three straight wins.

On Monday, Avon Lake came up short against Berea-Midpark and fell 82-74. While losing is never fun, the Shoremen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Titans are ranked 172nd).

Meanwhile, Buckeye was able to grind out a solid victory over Normandy on Friday, taking the game 57-46.

Buckeye's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Avon Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Avon Lake came up short against Buckeye in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 60-54. Can Avon Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
