Baseball Recap: Gibson County Wins Going Away Against Tipton Christian Academy

While Gibson County put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Tipton Christian Academy. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Eagles. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Cooper Pierce's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Gibson County is 5-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Gibson County let Noah Dabbs and Eli Goad run wild. Dabbs went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Goad went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Dabbs has posted since back in March of 2024. Brayden Fisher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Gibson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .130.

Gibson County's record now sits at 10-8. As for Tipton Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Looking ahead, Gibson County will welcome Crockett County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 4.1, the Cavaliers 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Tipton Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Millington Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
