Basketball Recap: Williams Bulldogs vs. Western Alamance Warriors

After flying high against Person last Monday, Williams came back down to earth. The Williams Bulldogs were dealt a 77-22 defeat at the hands of the Western Alamance Warriors on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, Williams saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Heaven Carter posted seven points. That's the most points Carter has posted since back in December of 2024.

Emma Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Western Alamance: she went 8-for-14 on her way to 27 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Johnson's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Tina Bowers, who earned ten points along with five assists and five steals.

Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Western Alamance, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Williams nor Western Alamance have any future games scheduled.
