Baseball Game Preview: Lake Oswego Lakers vs. Oregon City Pioneers

For the second straight game, Lake Oswego will face off against Oregon City. The Lakers are taking a road trip to challenge the Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lake Oswego is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Oregon City with a sharp 18-5 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lakers considering their one-run performance the match before.

Caden Gerritz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carsten Lemon, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Lake Oswego's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 2-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Enzo Tosoni was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
