Basketball Recap: Franklin Skates Past Rockdale with Ease

Franklin had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 57-23 win over the Rockdale Tigers. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Tigers are ranked 891st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Rockdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-16.

Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Little River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Little River Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Franklin likes a good challenge. Rockdale has already played their next contest (against Thrall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
