Basketball Recap: Temple Takes a Loss

Temple was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Springer Cardinals 62-25. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 84-62 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Springer to victory were Sammy Gardner and Braden Bostic. Gardner dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Bostic went 9 for 17 on his way to 20 points and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gardner has scored at least a third of Springer's points. Another player making a difference was Darian Roberts, who posted no points along with five assists, five rebounds, and four steals.

Temple's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Springer, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Temple has already played their next contest (against Rush Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Springer will host Bray-Doyle at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
