Softball Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

River Valley managed to slip by West Shamokin the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 8-2 to the Wolves on Wednesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

River Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callie Reaugh, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

River Valley's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for West Shamokin, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Valley will head out to challenge Westmont Hilltop at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Shamokin, they will challenge Cambria Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
