Harvey is a perfect 10-0 against Forman since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will host the Lions at 4:15 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Harvey's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Wooster. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cavaliers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Jack Amann looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Dominick Bonserio and Jake Acosta did most of the damage at the plate: Bonserio went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI, while Acosta fired off two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Ben Shaw, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Forman made sure to put some runs up on the board against Storm King last Friday. The Lions blew past the Cougars 19-1.
Tyler Tegnelia was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Tegnelia was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Leo Carbonell was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. Jack Adams was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
The win got Forman back to even at 1-1. As for Harvey, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Harvey beat Forman 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
