Baseball Recap: Toppenish Comes Up Short

Toppenish extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-14. They came up short against the Grandview Greyhounds, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Greyhounds since April 26, 2018.

As for Grandview, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Grandview's part, Joey Espindola made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Espindola a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Xathian Castro was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andre Lopez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
