Abingdon/Avon came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Riverdale Rams with a sharp 6-2 win. That's more bragging rights for Abingdon/Avon, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Their offense was hitting Riverdale from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Kolbe Hightower led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Abingdon/Avon's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Riverdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Abingdon/Avon wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Hoopeston on the 12th. As for Riverdale, they will venture away from home to face off against Kewanee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
