Basketball Recap: Silas Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Silas Rams came up short against the Rogers Rams and fell 70-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (58), Silas still had to take the loss.

Treyshawn Weatherspoon was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 19 en route to 32 points in addition to five boards and five steals for Rogers. Weatherspoon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dylan Gilderhus, who posted 18 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Silas and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for Rogers, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Silas won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mount Tahoma at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Silas is facing Mount Tahoma at the right time seeing as Mount Tahoma is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Rogers, they will be playing at home against Emerald Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Rogers has won five straight at home, while Emerald Ridge won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
