Football Recap: Clay County Gets the Win

Clay County's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Scott Eagles 38-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since September 20, 2024.

Despite the loss, Scott still got an impressive performance from Trey Cook, who rushed for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 193 yards and three TDs.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Scott, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Clay County will face off against McCreary Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Scott, they will challenge Boone County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
