Softball Recap: Big Walnut Takes a Loss

Big Walnut lost against Westerville Central back in April of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Eagles took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhawks. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Big Walnut saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Crotty, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Anna Thornhill was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Big Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Westerville Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Walnut will welcome Johnstown-Monroe at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Johnnies have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Westerville Central, they will take on Westerville South at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
