Nevis took a 18-run defeat the last time they faced off against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Wolves on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since May 23, 2024.

Nevis' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4. As for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, they moved to 11-2 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Nevis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-2 defeat against Pine River-Backus on the 12th. As for Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-0 victory against Red Lake on the 13th.
