Recap: Fletcher Senators vs. Mandarin Mustangs
The Fletcher Senators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mandarin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fletcher's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McCarthy Crenshaw, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crenshaw has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryder Kay, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Fletcher has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Mandarin, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Fletcher will be playing in front of their home fans against Creekside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Creekside is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Mandarin, they will take on Ribault at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ribault presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mandarin in Florida (Ribault is ranked 84th, while Mandarin is ranked 252nd).
