Softball Game Preview: Conard Red Wolves vs. South Windsor Bobcats

The Conard Red Wolves will take on the South Windsor Bobcats at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Conard will be strutting in after a victory while South Windsor will be coming in after a defeat.

Conard took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Windsor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Warriors on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Wolves.

Meanwhile, South Windsor lost 22-5 to East Hartford on Wednesday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Windsor saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Cole, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Gemma Duhamel was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Conard's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for South Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Conard's way against South Windsor in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Conard made off with a 16-4 victory. Do the Red Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
