It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the South Texas Christian Academy Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 55-49 W over Ozark Adventist Academy. The win was just what South Texas Christian Academy needed coming off of a 64-29 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Carlos Saenz, who scored 32 points along with five rebounds. Gabriel Armenta was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
South Texas Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Ozark Adventist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
South Texas Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Macedonian Christian at 2:00 p.m. on January 26th. Macedonian Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. Ozark Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
