Softball Game Preview: Wayne City Indians vs. Hamilton County Foxes

Wayne City is 0-5 against Hamilton County since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. Wayne City will venture away from home to challenge Hamilton County at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wayne City is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Edwards County, falling 21-1.

Meanwhile, Hamilton County came up short against Anna-Jonesboro on Friday and fell 10-6.

Tinlea Webb made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Saylor Brown, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Wayne City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hamilton County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Wayne City suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Hamilton County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Wayne City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
