Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Lely

Lely won against Palmetto Ridge last Monday with 78 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Lely Trojans secured a 78-72 W over the Golden Gate Titans. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

When it comes to explaining why Golden Gate lost, don't look at Sam Powell. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. Powell's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Orville Salomon was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

The win was the fourth in a row for Lely, bringing their record for this year to 4-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Golden Gate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
