Preview: Garden City Cougars vs. Crestwood Chargers
Garden City is 0-10 against the Chargers since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Garden City Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crestwood Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Garden City is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Even though Garden City has not done well against the Cardinals recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Garden City secured a 71-65 W over the Cardinals. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Garden City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emilio Licea, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hiett, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Crestwood was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 54-53 to the Panthers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crestwood in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.
Garden City's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Crestwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
