Recap: Humble Christian Cougars vs. True North Knights
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Humble Christian Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 58-54 win over True North. This was payback for Humble Christian, who suffered a 42-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Humble Christian to victory were Kyron Williams and Noah Vickers. Williams scored 22 points along with 5 steals, while Vickers dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Baylee Sandvig, who scored 6 points.
True North's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aiden Parks, who scored 19 points. The match was Parks' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Palmer, who scored 4 points along with 18 rebounds and 5 steals.
Even though they lost, True North were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Humble Christian only pulled down eight.
The win got Humble Christian back to even at 3-3. As for True North, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humble Christian will square off against Bob Hope at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bob Hope is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for True North, they will head out on the road to face off against Banff at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Banff will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 857th, while True North is ranked 300th).
